"Fitness has been a part of my life, in one way or another, for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I loved running around outside, riding my bike and playing on various sports teams throughout middle school and high school. I always loved playing sports and being on a court or field felt like home. However, despite all my time spent practicing or playing in games, I had almost no knowledge about fitness; I was lucky enough to be “fit” by default. Nutrition and conditioning were never taught to me; my gym didn’t even have a weight room in high school. When high school ended and my routine changed, I had no idea what to do with myself and how to effectively use my time. Since I had always been fit from playing sports, I had never had to work towards it. Throughout college, I would eat and drink whatever I wanted during the school year and then come home for the summer and do tons of cardio to maintain my weight. Cardio was the only thing that I really knew how to do, and this strategy somehow worked for a couple of years. After college, I went on to graduate school and gained weight due to stress, poor eating habits and a nonexistent workout routine. I began to feel really uncomfortable in my skin but was in denial about the weight I had gained and had no idea what to do to make changes. I would go on “diets” that had no actual goal other than to “eat less” and then become frustrated when this didn’t lead to any weight loss. After a few more years in this mindset, I hit my breaking point when I reached my highest weight (150 pounds on my 5’1” frame) and knew that I needed to really commit to trying SOMETHING to lose some weight. I was too self-conscious and overwhelmed to go to a gym so I started with some well-known home workout DVDs. The first few workouts were eye-opening in terms of how out of shape I had become. Slowly but surely, I was able to implement fitness into my daily routine, change my eating habits and saw some success. Some weight had come off and my body was starting to change for the better. I eventually needed more of a challenge and began diving into circuit training and weight lifting. I fell in love with both almost immediately. I love the feeling of moving my body with agility and picking up a weight in my hands. I love feeling strong and confident. I love the feeling that I have with my headphones on, music turned up and a few supersets ahead of me. While my love for fitness is now strong, I still perform best when I have a plan written out for me. Otherwise, it’s easy for me to slack off in the gym and only train my favorite muscles groups because it’s “easier” or workout for an hour but not get a whole lot done (or check Facebook and Instagram WAY too much when I should be doing some abdominal work or sprint intervals).

My search for an at-home fitness program led me to Madison! It is somewhat of a challenge to find a personalized fitness program led by a qualified professional and that can be done at home, but Madison offers this exact option. I love her 4-week individualized workout programs. Each of my workouts offers a mix of classic but effective lifts along with some new moves and abdominal work. Her workouts are challenging but can be done in normal amount of time which is important to me. I look forward to receiving my new workouts each week and feel accountable to her. Madison is available by email with any questions or concerns and is open to feedback and finding what works for you as an individual. I had the pleasure of meeting Madison as she happened to be visiting my hometown this spring. Madison is warm, kind and passionate about her craft. I love working with her and am proud to support her as a professional! Overall, since beginning the second half of my fitness journey a few years ago, I have lost a little over twenty pounds but have gained strength, muscle, confidence and life-long knowledge.  I look forward to seeing where my love of fitness will take me."- Laura

Laura’s testimony pretty much says it all! She is very committed to each new 4-Week Workout Program she undertakes, and this consistent dedication has served her very well. I can always tell by Laura’s feedback that she has complete each of the five workouts exactly as written. *Just FYI- Successfully completing 5 workouts/week in a home gym setting is no small feat! Kudos to Laura for doing this for four months now!!* This is super helpful as it allows us to better refine and personal the workouts for when she completes them a second time through! She accepts each new challenge I throw her way. This makes my job so fun!! Laura also does an excellent job pushing herself in her weight selection for various lifts. How do I know this, when I’m not there? By her reports of soreness following the workouts. 😊 The ability to constantly push yourself to new heights when working out alone can be quite difficult. I applaud Laura’s ability to do this week in and week out! As much as I have enjoyed working with her via the online platform, I even more so enjoyed getting to meet her in-person when visiting Chicago earlier this spring. Her enthusiasm for healthy habits, both fitness- and nutrition-related, were so evident. I cherish such opportunities to connect with others who share my passion for healthy living! Thank you, Laura, for taking the leap of faith with online training. You rock!!!
