Began “Couples” Meal Plan with husband in March 2018

“I never gave much thought to how I ate or if I exercised -- until I saw a photo of myself.  What a shock!

That's when I knew something had to change -- so I started running to get in shape.  I have since run a handful of 5K's, some 10K's, a half and a full marathon -- but the scale wasn't moving the way I wanted it to. 

By 2017, I switched up my training with Crossfit 3-4 times a week. With the intense workouts and focus on strength, I could tell my body was growing stronger -- but the scale still wasn't moving!

It was around the peak of my frustration -- March 2018 -- that I knew it wasn't that I wasn't exercising enough -- it was how I was fueling my body.  

Knowing nothing about nutrition -- I was so glad to find Madz!!  She is truly one of a kind!  She is knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate -- which is what makes her uniquely qualified to help me meet my goals.  Her nutritional programming is specific to me and is tailored to my goals.  

My MBM Meal plan allows me the freedom to choose foods that appeal to my tastes, while still fueling my body for my workouts.  Her Meal Manual has a bunch of great recipes that I know will be "Madz approved" but still taste amazing -- the Taco Soup is a family favorite!

Now, I watch the scale MOVE!  

Madz constantly encourages me, celebrates each victory with me, and helps advise me on how to best navigate tricky situations.  What's more, she pushes me out of my comfort zone -- like making me try on a pair of jeans from college -- WHICH FIT!!!”

Working with both Susie and her husband, Eric (you guys will meet him soon 😊), continues to be such a pleasure. One unique factor influencing Susie’s diet is her Korean heritage. While she teaches me about traditional Korean foods, I offer suggestions for how to make them more nutritionally sound. Susie’s attention to detail in regard to my feedback on her MyFitnessPal food diary entries has proven so beneficial in her ability to make healthy dietary decisions in a variety of situations. Each week I observe evidence of Susie making a conscious effort to address the specific topics we discussed on our previously weekly call. Whether this be adding salad to a pizza meal, sticking to protein + green veggies for rest-day dinners, or adding protein to her snacks- it is always evident that she is taking my feedback to heart.

Susie does an awesome job of planning ahead, enabling her to successfully cook most meals at home. She has become quite the expert with smart swaps- always looking to “healthify” the recipe of interest. It has been my honor to watch Susie develop her nutritional knowledge base, and for the resulting dietary habits to pay off via undeniable changes in her physique. When I first suggested she try on a pair of jeans from college, I swear she thought I was crazy! But when she tried them on and they fit, we were both crazy- crazy excited!! This was such encouraging evidence of greater progress than that denoted by the scale alone (especially since Susie has been consistently building muscle through her workouts at AYM Crossfit). I guess what I’m trying to say is, Susie- YOU ROCK!!
